The Ute Indian Tribe is soliciting proposals from qualified insurance consultants to provide Tribal member life insurance consultation. Please contact Skyler Massey at SkylerM@utetribe.com or (435) 725-4024 for more details and how to submit your proposal.


UTE TRIBE ADMINISTRATION: Turkey Certificates are available for pick-up at the Ute Enterprise office by Head-of Household, please bring a utility bill with you. Questions regarding Turkey Certificates please contact Leliliah Longhair or Emmett Duncan with Administration at (435) 725-4025.


UIT HEAD START: There Mini Thanksgiving Pow-wow is set to be November 22, 2022 located at the Fort Duchesne Gym starting at 10am. Any questions can be directed to Head Start at 435.722.4506 or 435.725.4861.


NORTHERN UTE THANKSGIVING POW-WOW: Will be held the 24, 25, 26, 2022. First Grand Entry is Thursday at 7pm. UTE THANKSGIVING HANDGAME TOURNAMENT: Will be held November 24th - 26th, 2022 at the Fort Duchesne Civic Center. There will be a pot luck thanksgiving luncheon around 12pm on Saturday, so bring your favorite dish to share.  


WATER SETTLEMENT: Alfalfa Hay & Grass Hay. Tribal Members are limited to 18 bales Per Month Only. No Semi Loads, No Holds, and No Credit, No Exceptions! Tribal Member must be present time of sale and have valid Tribal I.D. 1 Crop Grass and Alfalfa to be sold first No Exceptions. LIHEAP: Is now accepting applications for the year 2022-2023. She still has funding to get help with your Water Bill (Water Only) Please contact Lora Garcia LIHEAP/LIHWAP Coordinator at 435.725.4878 or on her cell phone at 435.823.2080 You may also pick up a LIHEAPLIHWAP application at the Ute Tribal Office in the front foyer.

UIT FISH & WILDLIFE: Those members who picked up a General Exterior Boundary Elk and Deer permits and who haven’t used that general exterior Elk or Deer Permit will need to return the unused permit to get the Extended Archery Exterior Boundary Elk or Deer permit which is going on now until November 30, 2022. UTE TRIBE SENIOR PROGRAM: Here at the Ute Senior Center we are on our way to planning activities for the elders for the holidays, we will definitely keep you informed.

On November 10 there will be NO MEAL DELIVERY due to the Senior Thanksgiving Dinner here at the center so only DINE IN, we encourage everyone come enjoy an early Thanksgiving Dinner. Also On November 22 NO MEAL DELIVERY, dine in only due to the Headstart Mini Pow-Wow. The Senior center is offering transportation to the Mini Pow wow to the elders please call the center to make arrangements. REMINDERS if you’re not going to be home for meal delivery please leave a designated place or cooler out for the meal to be placed or feel free to call the center to let us know you will not be home. We are still taking applications for the HEAT program for the Seniors Dept please fill out application along with utility bill or propane provider. We would like to wish all the elders who have Birthdays in November a Happy Birthday from Senior Citizens Staff If you should have any questions or ideas, please feel free to call the center at any time 435-725-4282 or the Out Reach Manager Doylene Cesspooch at 435-725-4288.

KAREN AMES: Will be at the Seniors Building in Fort Duchesne Tuesdays and Thursdays to review and enroll qualifying members into Medicare. If you are 65 or older or have been on Social Security Disability you are eligible for Medicare, she can help with enrollment and to review your current plans she is also available to help anyone with life insurance. If you have questions about your current policy or would like a new policy, contact Karen Ames at 435-219-7683.


EAGLE VIEW ELEMENTARY:  Eagle View is looking for basketball coaches! They are in need of a 6th-8th grade boys’ basketball coach and a 6th-8th girls’ basketball coach.  You can find the application online at www.uintah.net.  Click on “employment” at the bottom of the page, then under categories on the left, click athletics/coaches.  Come and work with great kids!

If you would like your child to participate and receive tutor mentoring this school year, you may pick up a UTTM application at the school’s front office. You may also fill out an application online at utetribeeducation.org and click on the tutor mentor tab. Filling out this application not only enables Eagle View UTTM to work with your child, it also allows your child to receive recognition and rewards for doing well in school. It enables your child to participate in any incentive trips provided by the Ute Tribe Education Department. UIT RECREATION: Mark your dates here are some Activities coming up.

  • Movie Matinee Vernal Cinema 5 November 17th, 2022 at 4pm. Select from any of the shows provided, please sign in at the event for participation with UIT Recreation. Bring money for snacks.
  • Jr. Jazz registration is open the deadline is November 30, 2022. We are also seeking basketball coaches for all age divisions. Ages: Kindergarten – 8th grade.
  • December 6th, 2022 they will be going to the Vernal Ice Rink starting at 7pm – 8:30pm.
  • Recreation Presents Winter Fest Expo December 2 & 3, 2022. This will be held from 10am – 4pm. Set Up Booth @8am. Welcome food, gifts, home décor, ornaments, jewelry, unique handmade gifts & much more. For more information on any of these events please feel free to call UIT Recreation at 435.722.2249.



  • Fall Family Fun Health Fair on November 18, 2022. 10am – 2pm at the Fort Duchesne Community Bldg. Stop by and get information about living a Heart Healthy life.

  • Thanksgiving Turkey Trot November 19th @ 10am starting at the Painted Horse.

UTE INDIAN TRIBE HIGHER EDUCATION: The UIT/BIA Higher Education Scholarship application for the Spring 2023 semester is now available online at https://www.utetribeeducation.org/uited/higher-education or stop by the Education Dept. building to pick one up. Contact Korin for other funding options, college admissions, and online FAFSA applications Deadline for scholarships is November 30th @ 4:30pm. BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFIARS: Is advising a Road Closure on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from the Farm Creek Road, one half mile east on the Whiterocks Loop – BIA Route #2 at East 16000 North. The road will be closed all day on Wednesday while a culvert is replaced. Route #2 should be open for travel again on Thursday November 17, 2022. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Are hosting a Food Handler Basic Course Thursday November 17, 2022 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Ute Crossing Grill. This will be the last in person class held until 2023. For more information, you may contact Paula Morgan at 435.545.7233.


RANDLETT COMMUNITY: There will be a Community Meeting every first Friday of the month at 6pm, there also will be Ute Language class every Friday at 5pm. also Sunday evenings, Narcotic Anonymous Meetings will proceed at 7pm. UTE TRIBE TRANSIT: If you need vehicle maintenance, oil change, tires, are anything that needs assistance with your vehicle, you will need to call Valirie Serawop at 435-725-4929 so she can schedule you in accordingly.


REDPINE: Has a Wellbriety "Mending Broken Hearts" Native American Grief Recovery Meetings are every Wednesday from l0am - 11:30am. Call Rebecka McNeil to sign up at 435-725-2868. They also have there AA meetings on Monday nights 7pm-8pm & NA meetings are Wednesday nights and holidays 7pm-8pm. For more information, call 435-722-9906.


UTE LANGUAGE AND TRADITIONS DEPARTMENT: Are open to teach tribal community for individuals and small group classes. Tribal community presidents please contact us to arrange classes for your communities. There will be classes every Tuesday at the Whiterocks Community Building at 5:30pm. Every Friday at the Randlett Community Building at 5pm. for additional questions you may call Ute Language at 435.725.2876.


WATER SYSTEMS: Time to Winterize with cooler Temperatures to prevent Frozen Water. Keep a water faucet running with a slow drip to prevent broken meters or frozen pipes. Homes using Water Wells make sure to keep the water pumps warm during the winter. (especially older homes) FYI: Supply Chain has a long wait time and homes can be without water for extended period of time. Also Reminder DO NOT Flush, paper towels, facial tissues, baby wipes, flushable wipes Only flush toilet paper. Flushing these items will cause issues in the sewer lines and septic tanks. Trash cans need to be curb side by 7am Homes with two cans please place them a foot apart. There are dumpsters in the communities where larger items can be placed.
