UTE INDIAN TRIBES COVID RESTRICTION:

Per Resolution 22-072 all Covid19 restrictions have been lifted, effective immediately including the Mask Mandate. The Mandatory Vaccination Policy is still in place.

All individuals conducting business with the Business Committee are required to show proof of vaccination prior to entering Business Committee Chamber

The UTE TRIBE SENIOR PROGRAM  would like to inform the elders that due to the Administrative Leave on May 5th, to attend Randlett Beardance and/or the MMNW Walk we are delivering meals earlier on this day. The mothers day meal will be on May 9th. This month we will continue outreach for Fort Duchesne, Richardson’s, Tavamuwisi and surrounding areas. SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM is now accepting applications. There is only one application for both programs (Tribal / WIOA). All documents are required upon submitting application which consist of Two forms of ID’s, Tribal Affiliation and School Verification for 2021-2022. Placement is Limited. Deadline is May 5, 2022.

PROSECUTION ADULT PROBATION & PAROLE SORNA PRESENTS:

MMNW&G WALK Event on May 5th, 2022 and will start at 3pm at the Ute Veterans Memorial Park. Questions can be directed to their office at 435-725-4937.

UTE TRIBE RECREATION Department announcements are as follows:

- We will be participating in Tri-Utes in Towaoc CO. July 25th – 28th. We have athlete, coaching and chaperone applications available at the recreation office so please stop by to pick one up. Registration deadline is May 12, 2022 at 4:00pm. Late Registration deadline is May 20, 2022 at 2:00pm.

- Recreation will also be sponsoring the horse shoe tournament at the Randlett bear dance May 7, 2022. Registration will be from 8-9 and is $100 per team.

PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM Upcoming Events are as follows.

May 7th, 2022 @ 10am Randlett Bear Dance Walk starting at the Bear dance grounds.

May 14th, 2022 @ 10 am Ft. Duchesne Bear Dance Walk at the Pow-wow grounds.

-Senior exercise at Whiterocks Community bldg. will be May 4th, 31st, and June 1st from 10-11 am. Following the workout with Vodne, there will be tasting demo’s with Shaye.

- Gym Use will be available only to those that have been fully vaccinated. Orientation with Jenny or Vodne is required so you know how to use the equipment properly. For more information, contact Painted Horse @ 435-725-5040 or Jessica at 435-823-2737.

The UTE INDIAN TRIBE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT will be hosting a Native American Student Career Day on May 4, 2022 at the Uintah Conference Center in Vernal, Utah from 8:30am-200 pm. For more information contact the Education department at 435-725-4096

The 2022 INTERTRIBAL OPIOID WELLNESS SUMMIT Will take place in Vernal on June 22nd – 24th, 2022. Pre-conference events for first responders will be on June 21st, 2022. For information about participation and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Valentina Sireech at 435-722-1200.

RANDLETT COMMUNITY president Jonas Grant Sr. shares that on Sunday evenings, Narcotic Anonymous Meetings will proceed at 7pm. Anyone in need of a meeting, please feel free to come and join. SHOSHONE LANGUGAGE REUNION SIGN UP are now taking place. Departure will be June 20, 2022 & Returning Date will be June 25, 2022. At this time only vaccinated seniors ages 65 and older are eligible to sign up. If you want to attend you still have time to get vaccinated. Rooms will be provided to the seniors who ride the bus. UIT FISH & WILDLIFE:

Big Game Applications are out and being accepted until May 26, 2022.

Please take the time to complete your applications properly your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Feel free to stop by the UIT Fish and Wildlife Office to pick up and submit a Big Game Application.

U&O IHS CLINIC has their vaccination and immunization clinic for all types of vaccinations and immunizations for all ages every Wednesday at the Wellness Center from 1 to 4pm.  Please call 725-6815 to get on the clinic schedule.

From now on all medication prescriptions will need to be picked up and electronically signed for inside the U&O IHS clinic at the pharmacy window. The pharmacy will no longer be able to deliver medications out to the parking lot.

All who enter the IHS Clinic MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose.

U&O Wellness Center has a new Public Health Nurse. Eve O’Pray-Nichols, RN, has been working with Diabetic patients at the Wellness Center and is excited to take her knowledge and skills out into the community. Eve has been instrumental in getting the U&O IHS Wellness Center Diabetic Program accredited as a Nationally Recognized Diabetic Education Program

The TRIBAL LAW ENFORCEMENT Assistant at the U&O Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services is in the process of compiling a complete list of all Tribal Police Officers and Dispatchers (living and deceased). UTE INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITY has the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program available. This program was established to provide rental and utility assistance to eligible Ute Tribal members. For eligibility requirements and additional information please contact the Ute Indian Housing Authority @ 435-722-4656 In addition, UIHA is now accepting applications for its Homeowner Assistance Fund. Contact their office for more information

WATER SYSTEMS would like to kindly Remind patrons, DO NOT Flush paper towels, facial tissues, baby wipes, flushable wipes. Flushing these items will cause issues in the sewer lines and septic tanks. Please only flush toilet paper

ALSO - Trash cans need to be curb side by 7am; homes with two trash cans, place them a foot apart. There are dumpsters in the communities to accommodate larger items. You may contact Water Systems. Questions can be directed to the department at 435-725-4922

ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH SERVICE would like to announce that vendors planning to participate in multiple Bear Dances or the upcoming Pow-wow in June are required to attend one of the following meetings.

·        Friday May 6th. 10am – 11am at the Randlett Community Center

·        Thursday May 12th. 5pm – 6pm at the Fort Duchesne Community Center

·        Friday May 13th. 10am – 11am at the Fort Duchesne Community Center

RANDLETT UTE BEARDANCE will be held May 5th – 8th, 2022.

Feast will be Sunday May 8th.

Headstart will be hosting their miniature version of the Bear Dance on May 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Fort Duchesne Bear Dance grounds.

UTE BEAR DANCE IN FORT DUCHESNE will be held May 13th – 16th, 2022. Feast will be Monday May 16th.

WHITEROCKS OLD STYLE BEAR DANCE will be held May 19th – 22nd, 2022.

Sunrise Flag Ceremony will be held every morning at 8:00am with Breakfast at 8:30am & Lunch at 12pm. Events will go as followed:

- Thursday May 19th, Bear dance Creation Story will be at 1pm. Bear dance will start at 3pm.

- Friday May 20th, Dress making demo at 9am. Cradle Board demo at 10am. Women’s Shinny Game at 1pm. Bear dance at 3pm and Traditional hand game at 5pm.

- Saturday May 21st, Painted Horse Walk/Run at 9am. Kids Parade at 12pm. Kid Games at 1pm. Bear dance at 3pm.

- Sunday May 22nd, Horse Parade at 11am. Bear dance at 1pm. Honoring BC Ute Indian Business Committee at 3pm. Feast at 6pm and Turkey Dance at 7pm.

The NORTHERN UTE TRIBE EMERGENCY RESPONDER Search & Rescue is looking for new members from the Uintah & Ouray Indian Reservation. The Northern Ute Tribe Emergency Responder Search & Rescue Organization is recognized by the Tribal Business Committee and Bureau of Indian Affairs Chief of Police. This is open to anyone who is willing and able. No Politics involved and this is a Non-profit voluntary organization. Meetings are held in Ballard, UT once a month at 10:00am.
