OBITUARY

Joshua Justin "Josha" Jenks, age 41, of Sunshine Acres Subdivision, Ft. Duchesne, passed away May 30, 2021, at his home after a longtime illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Randlett Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He will be taken to his home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. for a wake. 

Burial will be in the Randlett Cemetery.  

 

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT:

COVID-19 Update: As of Today the Ute Indian Tribe has 2 active cases, 349 recovered, and 3 deaths.  Ute Tribal Business Committee has lifted the Mask Mandate, so we ask that you use your best judgement in wearing your masks. We must continue to be vigilant, and take precautions in COVID-19 prevention, continue washing and sanitizing your hands and social distance in public settings.

Vaccination Clinics for Pfizer will be available at the Fort Duchesne Community Building on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., for anyone 12 years and older. Parent’s/Guardians need to accompany all minors to sign forms in order to receive the vaccine. We would like to encourage anyone who has not yet received the COVID-19 vaccination to get vaccinated, in order for us to move forward and return to normal, we need to take the initiative and get the COVID-19 vaccination.

IHS CLINIC:

PFIZER WILL CONTINUE TO BE GIVEN AT THE U&O IHS WELLNESS CENTER BY APPOINTMENT ONLY ON WEDNESDAYS FROM 2 to 4 PM. Call 435-725-6815 to schedule your appointment.  

Drive through COVID testing is still being provided daily by appointment only at the U&O IHS Clinic.

 

UIT HOUSING PROGRAM:

The Ute Tribe Housing Program is looking for contractors to provide our tribal members with affordable custom built homes, please provide floor plans for 3,4,5 bedroom homes must include all appliances and central air.

- Must be able to get a UTERO License (Ute Tribe Employment Rights Office).

Please submit your bids to the Tribal Housing program located at the tribal office 6964 east 1000 south (2 miles south of Bottle Hollow) Deadline is June 30, 2021@4:30pm.

UIT FISH AND WILDLIFE PARKS:

Appliance Round Up started Monday, May 3, 2021. UIT Fish and Wildlife Parks program will be going around helping elders and those who need assistance removing old appliance, washers, dryers, fridges etc. We will need your contact information, location and what is needing to be picked up. If you would like to drop your appliances off the Bottle Hollow Marina will be opened Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Contact Fish & Wildlife Parks at (435-722-5511)

 

SENIOR CITIZENS:

Meals for the week

Tuesday June 1st: 4.oz Salisbury steak, boiled mashed potatoes gravy, boiled vegetable, canned fruit, & sliced wheat bread.

Wednesday 2nd: 6.oz Liver & onions, boiled vegetables, fresh fruit, & sliced wheat bread.

Thursday 3rd: 6.oz Pork chop, boiled green beans, canned fruit & frozen biscuits.

Monday 7th: 6.oz Tator tot casserole, boiled vegetables, canned fruit, & sliced wheat bread.

Starting June 1, 2021 those seniors on our meal delivery who are full time workers, will be placed on the drive thru meal list. Meaning you will come to the senior department to pick up your lunch. This will help us service the homebound seniors in getting their meals delivered an adequate time during the summer months.

Senior citizens outreach/driver would like to say; with spring comes the cleaning. If you have any trash or old appliances that need to be hauled off, you can notify a driver or call the senior department. We would be glad to dispose of any trash for you or we can notify the proper program to help assist as always your concerns and questions are welcomed Please contact us at 435-725-4281 or stop at the senior building

PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM:

If you are requesting transportation to a medical appointment out of the area, you will need to provide documentation of your appointment.  We will need your name, appointment date and time and the location of the appointment.  We have to provide documentation when requesting travel authorization.  All personal health information will be omitted.  Please notify the Medical driver’s to schedule your transport as soon as you can to allow for ample time to get transportation approved.  You can call the drivers direct line at 725-4998.  If no one answers, leave your name, call back number, appointment date and time and location of appointment. WATER SETTLEMENT DEPARTMENT:

The Ute Agriculture Will not no longer be selling hay.  No exceptions.  The CO-OP will be taking Applications for CO-OP you can enter the building in the back applications will be in the door The Water Settlement is taking applications for fencing At the Water Settlement building.  If they have any questions they can call the office (435) 722-3136 Ext 4231
