UIT SENIOR CENTER:

  • Yard work, maintenance, mowing, tree trimming, trash pickup, old objects removal (furniture appliances, etc.) with seniors gives us call so we can put you on the schedule & meet your needs.

UIT RECREATION: Activities are as follows:

  • 2024 Tri-Ute Games Will be held on July 10th- 13th 2024 in Ignacio Colorado. Sorting event includes: basketball, Co-Ed, Volleyball, Archery, Swimming, Skateboarding, Golf, Wrestling, and Traditional Hand Games. This is for Enrolled Tribal Members and 1St & 2ND Descendants with CIB. Boys & Girls Ages 9-18 yrs. Come and support our Tribal Youth.

PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM: With their Activities Coming Up:

  • Little Ponies Day Camp will have traditional activities, Outdoor, arts & crafts, and storytelling. * Randlett Community Bldg. Will be held July 29th – August 2nd 2024. * Camp hours are from 8:30AM – 4:30PM.
  • One Massage Per Month will be available for individuals who are eligible for services though the Indian Health Clinic free of charge while funding lasts. Contact Lisa Nelson directly to schedule an appointment at 828-7891. If you schedule an appointment and you can’t make it, please makes sure you cancel before your scheduled appointment. There is a charge for no shows.
  • For the Health of It Gain knowledge on healthy eating patterns, weight loss management, stress management and coping skills. Classes Every Tuesdays from 4:45PM-5:45PM.
  • Elder’s Workouts & Stretching Classes Every Mondays from 11AM-12PM at Painted Horse.
  • Women’s Fitness Group >Set Goals>Build Strength>Gain Confidence>Team Building, Every Friday Morning at 10AM.

EDUCATION: Shoshone Language Reunion will start on Tuesday August 6th-8th 2024 in Fort Hall, ID. Departure August 5th & Returning Saturday August 10th. We will stay two extra nights for the Pow-Wow and will return home on August 10TH. We are only providing rooms for the elder who are riding the bus. UTE INDIAN TRIBE HEADSTART: Are taking applications for this upcoming school year 2024-2025. UIT Head Start is a free program to everyone who has children from 3-5 years old. There will be full day & half day available. Open hours to pick up an application are Monday- Thursday 8AM – 5PM & Fridays 8AM – 12PM. Any questions you may call 435.722.4506.

NATIVE AMERICAN U.B.I.C PAGEANT 2024-25: Applications are available at the Ute Bulletin/ Public Relations Office Monday – Thursday 8AM-4:30PM. Pageant will be held on July 19th @1PM in the Ute Tribal Auditorium. There is a $25 application fee, submit applications to the Ute Bulletin Office. Deadline is on July 16th @4PM no later. UIT FISH & WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT: PSA Tribal Communities, concerns of Canine Distemper.

*What is Distemper ? Canine distemper is a highly contagious viral disease that can affect dogs of all ages and certain wildlife.

*How is it transmitted ? Canine Distemper does not affect humans. Transmission occurs when virus particles are shed from an infected dog or animal, typically through sneezing, coughing or barking but also in urine, vomit, or feces.

*Prevention: Keep animals from wandering freely will help stop the spread of the virus as well as getting your animals vaccinated. The Ute Tribe Fish & Wildlife Department has vaccines available to Tribal Members free of charge.

Please contact the Fish & Wildlife Department @435.722.5511 to set up an appointment to have your animals vaccinated or with any additional questions.

WATER SETTLEMENT UTE TRIBE AGRICULTURAL: Hay Sales on Tuesday & Fridays Only Crop Grass Hay $45 a Bale. Tribal Members are limited to 18 bales per month, no semi loads, no holds. Must be picked up at the time of service. Purchaser of Hay must be present of time of sale and must have a valid Tribal ID No Exceptions.   • 1st Sundance: Chief Jerry C Tapoof will be held July 26-29, 2024. Dancers will be going in at 5PM July 26TH. Feast is on Monday July 29TH.
  • 2nd Sundance: Chief Henry Dawee Howell will be held August 16-19, 2024. Feast is on Monday August 19, 2024

LIHEAP/LIHWAP: Is no longer accepting applications for the heating program but will accept applications for elders only for 60 years and older. There is still funding for the Water Program. Please feel free to come in and fill out an application. Documents needed are: *Identification as a Tribal ID or Driver’s License

*Social Security Cards for entire household for eligibility

*Proof of income from employment for all adults

*birth Certificates for children 0 to 5 yrs only

*FYI Tribal Percapita is not considered income.

ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT: Is providing limited financial assistance to help tribal members 65+ with utility assistance contingent upon funding availability. This includes Gas/Propane, Water/Garbage, Electric and Phone. Payment will only be authorized for services that directly benefit the elder submitting an application for services, billing must be in the name of the elder requesting assistance. To apply you must complete an Elder Utility Assistance Form and submission of respective utility billing to the Administration Department for processing as soon as possible.

ENERGY & MINERALS: Access Permit and Business License Important Dates: *Business License expires October 1, 2024 (late fees will apply) *Access Permits expire every six months’ dates are March 31, 2024 & September 30, 2024. Applications are available online www.utetribe.com or stop by the Energy & Mineral Office Monday – Thursday 8AM -4:30PM or you may give them a call with any questions at 435.725.4950.

UIT SANITATION: Friendly Reminder avoid placing the following particles in trash bins and dumpsters. Rocks, dirt or sod, tree limbs, car parts, fence posts and wire, dead animals or animal parts, major appliances, hot ashes, batteries, bulky scrap metals, building materials or waste, oil or paint not contained in leak proof containers, bodily fluids. Should any of these particles be found at time of scheduled pick up, your garbage will be rejected for pickup. Also, be sure to have your bins out for pickup by 6AM.

UIT WATER SYSTEMS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENT:

  • The Ute Indian Tribe is requesting quotes for the construction of Indian Health Service (IHS) funded project – Sewer Main Restoration and Culvert Installation. The RFQ documents may be requesting by email from Felecia Pike-Cuch, Ute Indian Tribe Water System, feleciac@utetribe.com and Mengli Shi IHS, mengli.shi@ihs.gov. A non-mandatory pre-quote conference and site walk will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2024 @9AM local time at the Ute Indian Tribe Emergency Management Office 988 S 7500 E Ft. Duchesne UT 84026. Quotes are due Wednesday July 31, 2024 @11AM local time.
  • Water Restriction is Effective Immediately until further notice. Watering of lawns may take place from 8PM- 11PM only. Watering of livestock is strictly prohibited. Questions can be directed to Eli Chapoose @435.823.2175 or Mrs. Felecia Pike-Cuch @435.823.8005.
  • Please do not flush wipes, paper towels or pour grease down the drains. They are causing havoc along the sewer lines. Spring Amboh; Billing Clerk is asking all costumers to update contact information such as mailing & physical addresses and phone number. She may be reached at 435.725.7088. Usage of alert media is in effect.

UTE TRIBE TRANSIT: Has a wheelchair accessible van that can be checked out for the medical use when needed for the membership. Call Motor Pool at 435.722.2245 for more information.

  • The Ute Indian Tribe Transit Department helps accommodate the transportation needs of the surrounding communities in the basin. We have three fixed routes that run Monday thru Thursday. We have morning routes that run from Myton, Whiterocks, Randlett, Roosevelt. When needing transportation to any appointments or to do your day to day activities we do have an On Demand Driver also who we can schedule your transportation with. You can call the office at 435.725.4984 anytime to schedule transportation we do ask you to call a day in advance. You will be placed on our board with time, pick up location and destination. Please be informed if you can’t make your scheduled pick up please call our office and inform us. If you are a no show to three scheduled pickups’ when you call you will be placed on the schedule at the driver’s discretion. Our Boarding fees are as follows:
  • Regular $1 / Children (1-7yrs) $0.50 / Students (8- 18 yrs) $0.75) / Seniors (60yrs and up) $0.75) We also provide Passenger Discount Pass Tickets: 10 rides - $8 / 20 rides - $16 / 30 rides - $24. Student/ Senior Discount are: 10 rides - $7 / 20 rides – $14 / 30 rides – $21.

Discount passes can be purchased at the office or from any Transit Driver.

WIOA “WORKFORCE INNOVATION & OPPORTUNITY ACT”: This program is a temporary basis employment program and provides financial support to individuals trying to obtain a High School Diploma through UIT Adult Ed Program. While under the program, participants can receive assistance for Childcare and Training expenses, if applicable. The program is available to all Native American (Ute Indian Tribe, Tribal Descendants, and Other Tribes., etc.) if interested contact Rachel Shore at 435.725.4218 or stop by the Human Resource Office to pick up a WIOA application.

EMERGENCY EMPLOYMENT: is Accepting Applications.

Responsibilities: To perform various general or manual labor duties & cultural events (Beardances’, Powwows’, and Sundances’) for the Ute Indian Tribe. You must complete application and submit two forms of I.D. FYI this is a 9month temporary full-time job position program for Tribal memberships only.
