PUBLIC NOTICE

This is a two week notice that the Old Juvenile Court Building located by the CHR Building will be demolished. There will be a public meeting of December 2, 2019. From 3:30pm-4:30pm. RECREATION NEWS

- Signups for Youth Basketball League.

- Ice Skating @ Uintah County Western Park November 23, 2019. 5:15 – 6:45 p.m.

- Chili Cook off December 13, 2019. Must register before December 12th, chili must be ready by 11:00 am on the 13th.

- Winter Fest Arts & Crafts Fair December 13 & 14, 2019. Free Admission Open to the Public. Vendor Registration Form will be at the Ft. Duchesne Gym vendor fee is $40 to secure your spot by December 12, 2019. - Annual Holiday Pow-Wow December 27, 2019. Grand Entry @ 7pm.

-64th All Indian Tournament of Tribal Champs & 5th Annual Women’s All Indian Class. March 26-28, 2020. Entry fee $350. Deadline is March 18, 2020.

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM

- Ute Tribe Senior Grant Meals & Grant Transportations for 2019-2020:

The Ute Senior Center meal service is a regular nutritional meal program that is beneficial for tribal member’s ages 55 years old & over whom live within the service area. Meal service is from 11:30 am, to 12:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except holidays or tribal events.

All Transportation has to be scheduled in advance with a correct cell or contact number.

- Ute Tribe /Senior Caregiver Support for 2019-2020:

We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal programs. Respite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday.

*REMINDER: The Ute Senior WINTER HEATING program applications or available for October 2019 to February 2019.

- Ute Senior Center is having a Happy Thanksgiving November 13, 2019. 11:30-1:00pm. Contact Kitchen @ (435) 725-4295 & if you need a transportation contact: (435) 725-4281.

Class is set every first Tuesday of the month @ 5:00 pm, unless rescheduled. Also will be a potluck with drinks & dessert provided.

UINTAH’S NATIVE AMERICAN MONTH

- November 19, 2019. Star books event there will be a social gathering for students in the library from 7:15 am – 7:40 am.

- November 20, 2019. Honor dance during 1st & 2nd lunch for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in the commons area. The Honor dance will be from 11 am – 1 pm. Also they are seeking dancers from the community to participate in the dance. BUILDING REHAB

Now that winter is approaching here is a quick reminder: Do not plug heaters into safety power strips. This can cause a fire due to the load a space heater uses. Plug directly into a floor outlet. Space heaters and power strips are the #1 fire starters during the winter months.

 

UIT ALCOHOL/SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAM

Wellbriety: Mending Broken Hearts Native American Grief Recovery Meeting. Every Tuesdays 6 – 7:30 p.m. located at the UIT Alcohol/Substance Abuse Prevention Program Bldg. 550 South 6777 East Fort Duchesne.

UTE TRIBAL ENTERPRISE

Turkey Certificates are Available. You may pick up your turkey certificate from the Ute Tribal Enterprise Office. You will need Tribal I.D., Proof of head of household upon pickup. They are open Monday – Friday 8:00-1200 / 1:00-4:30.

 

REVITAILIZATION

Meeting for Playground Wednesday @ Whiterocks Community Bldg. 6pm Dinner will be provided.

 

UTE LANGUAGE

Ute Language Class’s will be held every Tuesdays at the Whiterocks Community Bldg. 5 p.m.

St. Elizabeth’s located in Whiterocks UT, Every Wednesday Are Activities Sessions. Arts – kid painting/beading/dance/storytelling. 4 – 6:45 p.m. Also Invitation to the community for a Holiday Meal.
