TRIBAL ROADS DEPARTMENT

The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation (“Tribe”) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide for the engineering, design, and installation of a culvert for an access road. Written responses to this RFP should be summited to Shana Wopsock Director Tribal Roads Department. Proposals must be delivered in a sealed package with the responding firms name, address, contact information and ACCESS ROAD CULVERT RFP RESPONSE clearly visible on the exterior of the package. The Tribe assumes no responsibility for late deliveries or the failure of any method of attempted delivery. Please include a sample copy of your firms proposed contract for your design, installation, and any other necessary services with your proposal. The Ute Indian Tribe Roads Department is constructing a public road from North Highway 121 (south of Neola) to the home of a tribal member. The scope of services for which proposals are sought includes the following. Pre-Design Meeting and site visit with appropriate stakeholders to verify road alignment and culvert location, Culvert Topographic Survey, Analysis, Design, Installation including labor, material, and equipment.

- Ute Indian Tribe Fall Fest 2019. They would like to welcome all Tribal    Departments that would like to participate in this year’s event it will be held Saturday October 12, 2019.

- Signups Youth Basketball League.

- Also signups for indoor soccer league Ages 5 – 8. Deadline is Oct 10, 2019.

- 2019 Utes Football Shirts for sale. $15 Youth Sm.-XL. / $20 Adult Sm.-Med. / $25 Adult 4XL.

- Reminder Please Return Football Uniforms & Equipment.

- Gym Bleachers are being fully installed. Fort Duchesne Gym Will Be Closed Until Further Notice.

UINTAH RIVER HIGH SCHOOL

Miss Uintah River Pageant applications for 2019-2020 are available with Kea or Kameron at the Uintah River High School. The pageant will be located at the High School Commons Area November 7th 2019 @ 3:45 PM-5.00 PM. Requirements must be: * Tribally enrolled or a descendant of an enrolled member.

     * GPA 2.5 or Higher.

     * 90% Attendance.

     * Must be enrolled with the school they are vying for (9th grade thru 11th grade)

UTE TRIBE PROSECUTION DEPARTMENT

“Basic Law Class”. November 5, 2019. Pres Greg Quinn.

Class will be on the first Tuesday of each month @ 5 o’clock pm. Also will be a Potluck with drinks & dessert will be provided.

UIT ALCOHOL/SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAM

Wellbriety “Mending Broken Hearts” Native American Grief Recovery Meeting will be held every Tuesday | 6 – 7:30 pm @ the UIT Alcohol/Substance Abuse Prevention Program Building

COMMUNITY MEETINGS

- Richardson Community, October 8, 2019. 5:00 p.m. @ the Park (Weather Permitted) or the Ute Crossing. Discussions will be about Halloween Party & plan for Thanksgiving. All board members please plan to attend. Will need volunteers during these events.

- Whiterocks Community, October 9, 2019. 6:00 p.m. Discussion will be Halloween Party for Whiterocks Community. @ The Whiterocks Community Building.

 

UTE LANGUAGE CLASS

Starting every Tuesday @ 5 pm, located at the Whiterocks Community Building. Everyone is invited.

 

NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM

Ute Tribe Senior Grant Meals & Grant Transportations for 2019-2020:

The Ute Senior Center meal service is a regular nutritional meal program that is beneficial for tribal member’s ages 55 years old & over whom live within the service area. Meal service is from 11:30 am, to 12:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except holidays or tribal events.

All Transportation has to be scheduled in advance with a correct cell or contact number.

Ute Tribe /Senior Caregiver Support for 2019-2020:

We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal programs. Respite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday.

*REMINDER: The Ute Senior WINTER HEATING program funding starts October 2019 to February 2020.

 

FORT DUCHESNE COMMUNITY BUILDING

- October 11, 2019, Mind, Body, & Spirit Expo. Meet a variety of Health &    Wellness Practitioners and Healers. 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Light lunch, Door  Prizes, Health & Wellness Booths, Breakout Sessions will be held throughout the day. Everyone is welcome!
