NEWS UPDATE: FROM UTE INDIAN TRIBE ALCOHOL/SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAM:
Alcohol/Substance Abuse Program presents: Mental Health First Aid Training. June 6th 2019, from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 pm.
Held at the Fort Duchesne Community Building, (Nuche Civic Center).
There’s only 25 slots available, so RDVP 722-3234. Lunch & Light refreshments will be provided. Our program is doing the quarterly Mental Health First Aid Training certification in conjunction with Northeastern counseling.

Parent Early Prevention, Topics: Synthetic Drugs & Preparing Summer Parenting.
Dates: Tuesday, May 28th , at 5:30 held at the Myton Community Building, and Wednesday, May 29th , at Nuche Civic Center in Fort Duchesne.

Just a friendly reminder: Big Game Application will be closing Thursday, 30th , at 4:30 pm. If you haven’t filled one out please stop by the Fish & Wildlife for an application.
UPDATE: FROM THE UTE INDIAN TRIBE LIHEAP PROGRAM:
The Ute Indian Tribe LIHEP Program has new location, if you have received an approval letter for FY 2018 beginning October 1st ,2018 , to date please bring in your approval letter and your heating bill.
New Location: Ute Tribal Office on Southeast side where the loan department is located.
Office hours: Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

NOTICE: FROM THE UTE TRIBE HOUSING AUTHORITY:
Inspections for this year will be held June 4-7th , 2019.
All rental units will be inspected, according to UIHA Policies and Lease Agreements.
I you are not present UIHA will enter the unit and proceed with inspecting your unit.
The UIHA has an overall responsibility to HUD for assuring that the home is being kept decent, safe and sanitary condition, and that home and grounds are maintained. This is a mandatory requirement per HUD regulations CFR 24-sec 193,109.
UPDATE FROM THE PEES-CHU DAYCARE:
The Pee-Chu Daycare is taking application for the Summer Child Care for ages 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Space is limited-first come, first served. The Summer session will be starting on June 3rd .
Child Care Assistance is available for all Native American families. Eligibility is determined by: Household size and income. All children participating MUST be 100% Immunized. If you have a family friend or relative that can help you with child care-provider application are available.

NOTE: UTE INDIAN TRIBE SUMMER SCHOOL:
Summer School application is available for Grades 1st to 3rd grades and 4th to 8th grades.
Just a reminder: Summer School applications are due Thursday, May 30th , if your child is leaving 1st – 8th grade, then they can come to summer school. Please bring your application to the Education Building. We also have application if you need one.

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM:
May 29th , - Ute Senior Health Day, starting at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
June 11th – Annual Ute Elder Recognition Day, for those 80 years and over at 11:30 am.
Ute Senior/Caregivers: Stretching Routine For Seniors, Senior Balance and Strength Classes every Thursday, starting May 2nd at the Senior Center 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Tuesday morning: will be Senior Massage after 10:30 to 12:00 noon.
All Ute Caregivers are encouraged and welcome to participate.
Exercises on Mondays and Wednesdays: from 1:15-2:00 pm. Points are being counted for participations prizes/awards.
Senior Crafts/Respite Program: has been doing all sorts of crafts, wreath making, fleece blankets, and many other seasonal decorations are to come. I have directed and require that all senior staff help do crafts or come up with idea’s, all crafts are done on site.
Ute Tribe Senior Title V1, Ute Caregiver Support Program for 2019-2020:
The Ute Senior Program is here to give support. We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal program. Resite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, plus lunch is provided at the center from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.
Meal Delivery: As required by Federal Grants guidelines, we cannot leave food outside your home, if your not going to be home, please call the Senior Office @ 725-4281.
Also delivery drivers are having problems with Dogs, please watch your animals, every mishap is reported to the UIT Executive Director.
For those needing chore work contact: UIT Building Rehab, UIT Water Systems, or UIT Maintenance. All these programs are here to try their best to assist.
EDUCATION UP-DATE FROM UTE TRIBE HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM:

The Ute Tribe Higher Education Office is now accepting applications for those individuals who are planning on attending college this fall semester 2019.

Zumba: Mondays/Thursday at 5-6:25 pm. at Head Start with Mariah
Zumba: Wednesday at 5-6:00 pm, at Head Start with TJ
Step Aerobics: Mondays at 5:15 – 6:15 pm, at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.
Body Weight Resistance Workout: Tuesday, at 5:15-6:15.
Little Ponies Day Camp: for youth ages 10-18 yrs. old. We will be coming to the communities of Randlett, Ft. Duchesne, Myton, Whiterocks and would appreciate any volunteers in those communities to assist us.

Mass at Kateri Tekakwitha Mission every Wednesday at 5:00 pm, in Fort Duchesne, just North of the Blue Store.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Catholic Bishop from Salt Lake will be doing a Mass for the Community at the Kateri Tekakwitha Mission in Fort Duchesne, July 14th , 2019.
UPDATE FROM THE U&O VETERANS:
SUNRISE PRAYER SERVICE: In Remembrance of our Veterans of the Normandy Invasion WW11 (1944) and All Veterans of WW11. Friday, June 7th 2019. Sun Rise will be held at the U & O Veterans Park, in Fort Duchense.

Delicate Arch and Explore Valley 2019. Schedule for June 17th – 20th , 2019.
Opened to youth Boys & Girls ages 14-17, it’s a 3 day/9 mile backpacking trip.

For all Ute Tribal Members, Descendants, any youth living in Ute Household, age 13-19 years of age. Also, if you are interested in being a chaperone, please let us know as well.
Please make sure you fill out the application and get it into the Education Department ASAP space is limited, only 30 students will be eligible to attend from the Ute Tribe.
