UPDATE FROM THE PEES-CHU DAYCARE:
The Pee-Chu Daycare is taking application for the Summer Child Care from ages 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Space is limted-first come, first served. The Summer session will be starting on June 3rd .
Child Care Assistance is available for all Native American families. Eligibility is determined by: Household size and income. All children participating MUST be 100% Immunized. If you have a family friend or relative that can help you with child care-provider application are available.

UPDATE: FROM EAGLE VIEW ELEMENTARY:
Eagle View Elementary is having an Annual end of year Pow-wow, Thursday, May 16th at 1:00 pm.
We are seeking adult dancers who are willing to come to Eagle View Elementary to teach our students about the different types of pow-wow dances and the meaning of the dance they perform. This assembly will be broken up throughout the morning. Lunch will be provided. We only need one dancer per category for both men and women, so please let us know as soon as possible!

UPDATE: FROM UINTAH RIVER HIGH SCHOOL:
There are only 3 more Mondays left of this school year! In order for our students and staff to be ready for graduation ALL Apex (credit Recovery) classes MUST be finished by Monday, May 20th . There will be NO exceptions made. Students may come in on Friday, May 17th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, to work on any of their assignments and APEX. All grades must be passing in the students classroom class by May 22nd .

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM:
May 7th , - Ute Senior’s Mother’s Day Luncheon.
May 8th , - IHS Cooking Classes Demo will be set up. CREATE, Family Meals at 10:30 am (May 8th, 22nd & 29th ). No age limit, learn to cook for better health. All supplies provided including the taste testing. For more information contact: Pamela Shaffer PHN @ 725-6828.
May 16th – UIT Head Start Mini-Bear Dance
May 17 – 20th , Fort Duchesne Bear Dance, Office will be closed Monday, May 20th .
May 22-23rd , - Ute Nations Day for those 70 yrs. and up, at Southern Ute Tribe, In Ignacio, Co. For those riding the bus, it will leave Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00 am.
May 29th , - Ute Senior Health Day, starting at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
June 11th – Annual Ute Elder Recognition Day, for those 80 years and over at 11:30 am.
Ute Senior/Caregivers: Stretching Routine For Seniors, Senior Balance and Strength Classes every Thursday, starting May 2nd at the Senior Center 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Tuesday morning will be Senior Massage after 10:30 to 12:00 noon.
All Ute Caregivers are encouraged and welcome to participate.
Exercises on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:15-2:00 pm. Points are being counted for participations prizes/awards.
Senior Crafts/Respite Program: has been doing all sorts of crafts, wreath making, fleece blankets, and many other seasonal decorations are to come. I have directed and require that all senior staff help do crafts or come up with idea’s, all crafts are done on site.
Ute Tribe Senior Title V1, Ute Caregiver Support Program for 2019-2020:
The Ute Senior Program is here to give support. We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal program. Resite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, plus lunch is provided at the center from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.
Meal Delivery: As required by Federal Grants guidelines, we cannot leave food outside your home, if your not going to be home, please call the Senior Office @ 725-4281.
Also delivery drivers are having problems with Dogs, please watch your animals, every mishap is reported to the UIT Executive Director.
For those needing chore work contact: UIT Building Rehab, UIT Water Systems, or UIT Maintenance. All these programs are here to try their best to assist.

UIHA will be having a clean-up on May 20-24th , for Low Rent units. We encourage everyone to get out and clean your yards.

ATTENTION FROM UNION HIGH SCHOOL TUTOR/MENTORS:
APLUS RECOVERY CREDITS.
May 17th is the hard deadline to finish recovery credits for Seniors to walk at Union High School Graduation May 24th .
Please encourage your children to finish making up their past recovery credits over the weekends and after school.

UP-DATE FROM UTE TRIBE HEAD START PROGRAM:
Your invited to come participate in Head Starts end of the year event! May 22nd , at 10:30 am. Held at the Roosevelt Constitution Park.
We are encouraging all departments to come help us celebrate our end of the year celebration by sponsoring a fun enriched activity for children and parents. The activity sponsored can be educational, cultural, physical or safety wise. These activities are geared to help encourage families to be safe and fun during the summer.
You will need to provide your own table for your activity and we are asking all sponsors to be at the park and set up not later than 10:00 am.

Zumba: Mondays/Thursday at 5-6:25 pm. at Head Start with Mariah

Step Aerobics: Mondays at 5:15 – 6:15 pm, at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.
Body Weight Resistance Workout: Tuesday, at 5:15-6:15.
Garden Box: applications will be done May 3rd . Plants will be given out the week of May 13th . If you already have a garden box, and want to participate in our project this year. You will need to fill out the plant application. Contact: Sandy @ 725-4911.
We are planning our Little Ponies Day Camp: for youth ages 10-18 yrs. old. We will be coming to the communities of Randlett, Ft. Duchesne, Myton, Whiterocks and would appreciate any volunteers in those communities to assist us.

Uintah High School is looking for an artist to design a logo that represents the Ute Tribe.
Theme: What represents the Utes?
Design a logo that will be used for the New Uintah High School logo. The New logo will be utilized throughout the athletics department!
Prize will be given to the winner!
Deadline for the Design is May 10th , 2019.

The Catholic Bishop will be doing a Mass for the Community at the Kateri Teawitha Mission in Fort Duchesne, July 14th , 2019.
Hooping Into Spring, Ironman Men’s & Women’s Tournament:

Delicate Arch and Explore Valley 2019. Schedule for June 17th – 20th , 2019.
Opened to youth Boys & Girls ages 14-17, it’s a 3 day/9 mile backpacking trip.

Wrestling & Volleyball:
If your child is planning on Wrestling during the Tri-Ute games please attend a parent meeting tomorrow night at the Fort Duchesne gym at 5:00 pm. There will also be a parent meeting for those that are playing Volleyball in the girls and boys 16-18 year old division starting at 6:00 pm.
