NOTICE: FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR:
You are invited to Indian Mineral Owner Questions and Answer Session
Thursday, April 11th , from 9:00 am to Noon. Place: Large Conference Room at the Ute Crossing Grill.
Representatives from various Federal Agencies responsible for managing trust minerals will be available to answer your mineral ownership and or royalty questions regardless of where your allotment is located.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Wednesday, April 10th 2019. There will be a Grasshopper information meeting held in Roosevelt at 7:30 pm, to prepare for possible grasshopper infestation this year. This meeting will be at the Roosevelt USU Classroom, in room 105.

NOTICE OF THE UTE TRIBE ELECTION:
Notice of 2019 Ute Tribe Elections: Pursuant to Ordinance 13-006 as amended, notice is hereby given that the Ute Indian Tribe of Uintah and Ouray Reservation will hold as Election to fill the expiring terms of the following members of the Ute Tribal Business Committee:
Shaun Chapoose, Uncompahgre Band,
Ronald J. Wopsock, Uintah Band and
Edred Secakuku, Whiteriver Band.
The Primary Election will be held Wednesday, April 3rd , 2019 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
The purpose to selecting (2) Candidates from the list of eligible nominees from the nomination period representing the Uncompahgre, Uintah and Whiteriver bands of the Ute Tribe Business Committee for the term of 2019 -2022.
POLLING PLACES AND TIME:
The polls will be open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. At the following places: Fort Duchesne Community Building, Myton Community Building, Whiterocks Community Building, and Randlett Community Building.
For the Primary Elections April 3rd and for the General Elections April 17th , 2019.
ABSENTEE VOTERS: An Eligible voter who qualifies to vote by absentee Ballot (pursuant to Ordinance 13-006 as amended) must request an absentee ballot for the Primary Election starting March 27th at 8:30 am.
The Election Commission must receive this ballot no later than 4:30 pm, on April 2nd.
The Election Commission will start accepting absentee ballots for the General Election on April 10th at 8:30 am, through April 16th, at the Ute Tribal Auditorium.

Primary Election Wednesday, April 3rd . Polling sites will be open 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
Reminder: Poll place for Fort Duchesne is at the New Community Building, not the Gym.
Election Commission is accepting absentee ballots in the Tribal Auditorium until April 2nd by 4:30 pm.
Election Commission will be tabulating the votes, at the Tribal Auditorium Wednesday Evening at 6:30 pm.
NEWS UPDATE FROM BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS AND UINTAH INDIAN IRRIGATION PROJECT:
Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Uintah Indian Irrigation Project will be having their Spring Water User meeting today Tuesday, April 2nd at 5:30 pm. At the Utah State University Multi-Purpose Room in Roosevelt, Utah.

UPDATE FROM UTE INDIAN TRIBE AND ALCOHOL/SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION PROGRAM PRESENTS:
Parent Prevention Training
Topics: Substance Abuse Prevention & Assistance to Families of Incarcerated Individuals.
Tuesday, April 9th , from 5:30 pm, held at the Head Start Building.
APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS MONTH:
Spring Break for Uintah County School District. April 1st – 5th, 2019.
This year’s Theme: “Our Children today, Our Leaders tomorrow”
All activities with Painted Horse Diabetes Program:
April 2nd – Clothes Pin Wreath Making in Whiterocks, Ft. Duchesne, Randlett and Myton, held at the Community buildings, beginning at 5-7:00 pm.
April 4th & April 17th ,– Swimming at the Vernal Recreation Center, from 6 – 8:00 pm. Participants under 9 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Activities available: Play Basketball, Walk on Tread Mills, Climb the Rock Wall, Walk the indoor track, and Workout in the Weight Room. A light snack will be provided.
April 5th – CAPS Pageant at 4:00 pm, held at the Ft. Duchesne Community Building.
April 6th – Big Springs Relay- If weather permitting- Meet at Painted Horse Bldg at 9:00 am, Relay starts at Big Springs at 10:00 am.
Light snack will be provided. Sign-up at the Painted Horse Office, or call the office to be added to the list.
April 6th – Movie: Dumbo & Shazam in 2D, At the Duchesne County Children’s Justice Center and the Roosevelt Theatre. Beginning at 1:00 pm.
April 7th – Recreation Movie: at the Ft. Duchesne Community Bldg.
Family Cosmic Bowling: held every Sunday’s starting at 12:00 – 2:00 pm.

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM:
April 1st – Beginning of Title V1 Grants for 2019-2020
April 2nd & 3rd – Senior Craft project in the morning at the Senior Center.
April 10th – Ute Language meeting, from 12:45 to 2:00 pm.
April 16th – Seniors Easter lunch and activities.
April 17th – Ute Senior Center leaning, lunch delivery & pick up lunch only.
April 18th – No Lunch, due to the Tribes activity for Tribal Employees.
April 23rd – Some staff will be attending Dementia Caregiver Conference in Roosevelt from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. (Limited transport) Deadline to sign-up April 9th.
Ute Senior/Caregivers: Exercises on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:15-2:00 pm. Points are being counted for participations prizes/awards.
Senior Crafts/Respite Program: has been doing all sorts of crafts, wreath making, fleece blankets, and many other seasonal decorations are to come. I have directed and require that all senior staff help do crafts or come up with ideas, all crafts are done on site. Next craft event (Easter) will be in April.
Meal Delivery: As required by Federal Grants guidelines, we cannot leave food outside your home, So if your, not going to be home, please call the Senior Office @ 725-4281.
Also delivery drivers are having problems with Dogs, please watch your animals.
For those needing chore work contact: UIT Building Rehab, UIT Water Systems, or UIT Maintenance. All these programs are here to try their best to assist.
Myton Ute Community will be having an Easter Egg hunt Saturday, April 20th , starting at 10:00 am, at the Myton City Park.
There will be Prizes, Food, Family fun, BBQ lunch at the Myton Ute Community Building.

Uintah High School is looking for an artist to design a logo that represents the Ute Tribe.
Theme: What represents the Utes?
Design a logo that will be used for the New Uintah High School logo. The New logo will be utilized throughout the athletics department!
A prize will be given to the winner!
Design is due May 10th , 2019.

The Catholic Bishop will be doing a Mass for the Community at the Kateri Teawitha Mission in Fort Duchesne, July 14th , 2019.
DIOCESE OF SALK LAKE CITY COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN:
Is collecting donations to assist those in need.
Rosaries, Eyeglasses, Hearing aids, cancelled stamps (other than forever flag stamps) Pull tabs from cans and school supplies.
