Funeral announcement: for Mario Tom, age 32. Passed away at his residents. Saturday, March 3rd , 2018.
Funeral Services: Thursday, March 8th , 2018, at 10:00 am. At the Randlett LDS Church.
There will be NO Wake. Viewing will be at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Place of rest will be in the Randlett Cemetery.
Our Condolence to the families and friends, May Creator comfort you in the time of your sorrow and lost.

UPDATE FROM UTE TRIBE FARM BOARD:
Individual Farm Assistance will be handing out 2018 application, at the Water Settlement conference Room.
March 8th , 2018 from 8:00 am until applications are all gone. The Farm Board will be handing out the applications.

ATTENTION TRIBAL MEMEBERS:
The Southern Utes will be honoring Bear Dance Chiefs from the Three Sister Ute Tribes at a “Ute Nation Day” to be hosted on May 24th , 2018, from 9:00 am – 12 (noon) at the Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Building.
If you have a family member who was a Bear Dance Chief that was not listed, you are welcome to provide their name. The list used was provided by a Bear Dance Chief.
Names were not intentionally left off or done on purpose, more information shared the better.

NEWS FROM: THE UTE INDIAN MUSEUM FROM MONTROSE, CO.
Ute Indian Museum will open a new exhibit, contributions of a Tribal Leader, on Monday, March 5th 2018, in the Changing Gallery.
Members of the community as invited to an opening reception for contributions of a Tribal Leader at 6:00 pm, on Saturday, March 10th. There will be free admission and light refreshments for the evening. Former Chairman Manuel Heart will present about his diverse and colorful journey over decades as a Ute Mountain Ute elected leader at 7:00 pm.
Ute Indian Museum is located at 17253 Chipeta Road, Montrose, Co.
The Museum is open daily, Monday – Saturday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. and Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Salt Lake City International Airport is looking for Artists who are interested in creating large-scale “Art work” for the new airport. The “Whimsy Wall Art Project” is part of the New SLC Airport Redevelopment Program which was issued by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Salt Lake City Department of Airports.
All subject matter all be considered, through artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects the “culture, community, landscape and spirit of Salt Lake City.

UPDATE FROM PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PROGRAM:
March 11th – Snowboarding/Skiing Trip, to Sunlight Resort.
Leaving from Ute Plaza at 5:00 am.
There are also lessons for snowboarding available.
Meals will be provided.
We will NO longer be signing up people over the phone. Guarding/Parents need to come into Painted Horse and sign activity agreement/liability forms, before we will put you onto the list. Hurry seats are limited.
Driving to Sunlight Resort is an option but you will still have to sign up in person at the Painted Horse Office.
March 16th – Food Demo: we’ll be teaching How to Roll and make Cooked Sushi, everyone is welcome to come!, at 9:00 am. At the Painted Horse Office.
Elder’s workout sessions: every Monday’s & Wednesday’s from 11:00 -12:00. At the Senior Center.
Zumba: Monday’s, Wednesday’s, & Thursday’s , at the Head Start building starting at 5:00 pm

The Senior Program is for those 55 years of age or older, and Enrolled member of the Ute Indian Tribe.
March 5th -10th – Union High School Indian/Native American Program & Pow-wow.
March 7th – NO LUNCH due to rescheduled Ute Indian Tribe Quarterly Meeting.
Wednesday, March 14th – Senior Movie Day!, At noon, Featured Movie: Windriver. Treats & Popcorn will be provided. Sponsored by UIT Recreation Department.
March 15th – St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon
March 28th – Easter Luncheon & Activities
Ute Senior exercise program: sponsored by Painted Horse every Mondays & Wednesdays, at 11:00am.
REMINDER: Ute Senior Winter Heating Program is out of funds until next October 2018.
Ute Tribe Senior Title VI meals & Transportations:
The senior center meal service’s is from 11:30 – 12:30 pm. Monday – Thursday, except on holidays/tribal events.
Lunch Fee: for those 55 under and children.
Home Bound: meals are for those seniors over 55 years of age, and unable to leave their homes. Also if you are not going to be home due medical appointment please let us know.
There is a problem with dogs. Please keep animals tied up or away from staff. If this problem persist other accommodations will be made, this is for our workers safety.
All Ute Seniors call in advance for Transportation:
Transportation scheduling is from 8:30 – 4:00 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except on holidays/tribal events. Regular meal pick-up is from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

SKI TRIP: Saturday, March 10th , there is limited seating, so participants will need to come to the office and sign-up.
Applications are now available for Athletes and Coaches.
Athletes (9-18) years old will need 1st or 2nd Descendant papers, or a copy of their Tribal ID.
Coaches will need to complete a background check.
Deadline for application is Thursday, April 5th , 2018.
