UPDATE FROM FISH & WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT:

Ute Indian Tribe Special Wild Turkey Hunt Application Spring 2018.

February 5-26, 2018. Applications is for any tribal member who is interested in applying.

Applications are also available at the UIT Fish & Wildlife Office.

Applications will accepted until Monday, February 26th 2018 at 4:30 pm.

UPDATE FROM ST. ELIZABETH CHURCH:

Arts-Kids Life Skills for Youth, Empowering youth through the expressive Arts. Express yourself, expand Imagination, Explore your heritage with local artist and have fun and make new friends.

We’ll have Painting, Beading, Dance and Storytelling.

Wednesday, February 7th to March 14th 2018. From 4:15 – 6:45 pm. Dinner will be included.

This is for Kids – Teens ages 6-17.

No cost to participants.

Fort Duchesne Community Meeting: is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th at 6:00 pm. meeting held in the Tribal Auditorium. On agenda: Community Building, Bear Ears Coalition.

Richardson/Tava-ma-weesi Community: has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 6th , at 5:30 – 7:30 pm. at the Ute Crossing Conference Room.

Whiterocks Community Meetings:

Friday, February 9th – Dedication for the Buffalo Head for the Community Building, at 12:00 (noon), with lunch will be provided.

Friday, February 16th – Demonstration with Emergency Management at 12:00 (noon), With Dehydrated food will be on the menu.

Friday, February 23rd – Whiteriver Band meeting at 12:00 (noon) Lunch will be provided. On the Agenda:

Whiteriver Resentatives, Ute PAC, and Drug & Gang Coalition.

 

VENITA K. TAVENPONT LIBRARY & UTE LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT:

Ute Library & Ute Language is having a Valentine’s Day Party, Friday, February 9th from, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Come join Ute Language in making greeting cards using “Ute Words”, also to Swap Cookie Recipes.

Bring you homemade cookies to share with everyone and swap cookie recipes.

 

UPDATE FROM PAINTED HORSE DIABETES PROGRAM:

Elder’s workout sessions every Monday’s & Wednesday’s from 11:00 -12:00. At the Senior Center.

Zumba: Monday’s & Thursday’s , at the Head Start building starting at 5:00 pm

Zumba: Every Tuesday’s at the Myton Community Building, starts at 6:30 pm

Toning Class: Wednesday’s at Painted Horse starting at 5:00 pm

Circuit Training: Monday’s & Wednesday’s from 1:30 – 2:15 pm.

Winter Community Cross-Training Classes: With Chris Tabbee

Place: Whiterocks Community Building, on Monday’s & Wednesday, from 1:30 – 2:15 pm.

Fort Duchesne: Head Start Building, on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s, from 1:30 – 2:15 pm.

Cross-Training will continue until March 1st .

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE LIHEAP PROGRAM:

The heating program is ready to disburse application and except forms, come into the Ute Family Services lobby to pick-up an application.

The office is located in the Ute Family Service Building. Business hours: Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Below are the documents you must attached to your applications:

Tribal ID, or Driver License

Social Security Card

Income Verification of All Household members (4current check stubs)

Copy of Utility Bill (Electric, Gas, Propane)

Name & Address of the Provider & Account number

Social Security, SSI, Veteran’s Benefits, GA & TANF

Copy of check or Bank Statements

If your service is with Rock Mountain Power, attach yor income, the business do t release bills until you give permission.

UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAM:

The Senior Program is for those 55 years of age or older, and enrolled member of the Ute Indian Tribe.

Wednesday, February 14th – Senior’s Valentine Day’s luncheon.

Monday, February 19th – Holiday.

Ute Tribe Senior Title VI meals & Transportations:

The senior center meal service’s is from 11:30 – 12:30 pm. Monday – Thursday, except on holidays/tribal events.

Lunch Fee for those 55 under and children.

Home Bound: meals are for those seniors over 55 years of age, and unable to leave their home due to illness.

All Ute Seniors call in advance for Transportation:

Transportation scheduling is from 8:30 – 4:00 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except on holidays/tribal events. Regular meal pick-up is from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

All Medical Transportation:

Ute Tribe Senior Winter Heating Program:

The last month of the 2017-2018 Ute Senior Winter Hearting Program, for all services an application is required and heating bill must be submitted by the individual. The Heating Program will end March 1st , 2018.

AS of OCTOBER 2014:

The Senior Program has been without Senior Maintenance workers, Equipment & Funding

NEWS FROM THE UTE LANES YOUTH BOWLERS:

On Saturday, February 10th we will be half way through our bowling league.

Saturday, February 10th , we will be having a Valentine Bowling Party, so parents encouraged to bring treats and snacks. We will also have fun prizes. Currently we have 8 Pee-Wee bowlers, and 28 youth bowlers.

Our bowlers are getting their bowling form and techniques and getting ready for our 1st Tournament. This is the annual Utah State Pepsi Tournament that will be held at Big city Bowl in Midvale, Utah, on February 24th & 25th . Our Bowlers are vying to represent Utah in the National Pepsi Ournamentin Texas in June 2018.

Nah-na-mah Culture Club:

Open 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. Deadline: February 28th , 2018.

3 player limit, all games will start at 9:00 am, Kids need proof of age and parent waiver signed.

Opened to ages 13-17, 18 & up (1 female, 2  Male) No Exceptions. Whiterocks Gym. Cost: $20.00

FORT DUCHESNE COMMUNITY FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT!!

Come join in the fun at the community movie night, Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 7:00 pm.

Uintah High School and Union High School Senior Trip Fundraiser:

Bone Hog Tournament, (2 person team) Registration from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Registration Fee: $50.00 a team ($25.00 a player)

Games starts at 6:00 pm.

 

2018 TIGER LEAGUE WRESTLING:

OPEN TO ALL Kids – Grades Pre-K – 5th

Cost: $35.00, Family rate $30.00 for 2nd and 3rd Wrestler.

We have Duals, Tournament, Tee-Shirts, Shorts and (6 week training)

UINTAH AND OURAY RESERVATION RANGE INVENTORY TEAM:

Utah State University, in collaboration with the Northern Ute Tribe, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Natural Resource Conservation Service, seeks to hire summer seasonal technicians to collect data for a range condition inventory of the reservation that provide baseline information to support land management decisions.
