Myton Community: Halloween Party, Tuesday, October 31st , beginning at 5:00 – 10:00 pm.
Come have some family fun, Pumpkin Carving, Costume Contest for kids and Adults, Food tickets at 5 tickets for $1.00.
Randlett Community: Randlett community meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th , at 2:00 pm. held at the Blue Building. On the agenda is the New Community Building and plans for this Thanksgiving.
UPDATE FROM THE 1ST ANNUAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS COOK-OFF:
BIA Law Enforcement held there 1st Chilli ‘n’ Frybread Cook-off, Wednesday, October 25th , 2017.
The winners are: Shermaine Blackhair Fry-Bread winner, Lloyd Miller was the Chilli winner.
Congratulation go’s out to the winners.

East Elementary Native American Culture Week, is planned for Monday. November 13rd thru November 16th

UPDATES FROM PAINTED HORSE PROGRAM:
Elder’s workout sessions every Wednesdays, from 11:00 – 12:00, at the Senior Center.
Zumba has been changes to Monday’s instead of Tuesday’s at 5:00 pm, at the Head Start Building. Zumba will be Monday’s and Thursday’s.
Wednesday, November 8th , there will be a Cancer Presentation at noon (12:00) in the Tribal Auditorium. Jenny Morales from the Huntsman Cancer Institute will be making the presentation. Lunch will be provided. This is open to everyone.
Thursday, November 9th - Veteran’s Day walk, starting at 10:30 am. from the Veteran’s Memorial Park to the Head Start Building.
Thursday, November 16th – Health Fair will be held at the Ft. Duchesne gym starting at 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is opened to everyone, come and check out the booths and get some good incentives, with lunch provided.
Please be aware events may change. All our activities are free to the communities.

The Ute Senior Heating Program (Resolution 98-247)
For the upcoming 2017-2018, Ute Senior Winter Heating application is required this year and all heating bill must be submitted in person.
These applications are now available, and the program will end on February 28th 2018. Each request is limited to ONE vendor and only three (3) requests, this includes fire wood requests.

NEWS FROM THE UTE LANGUAGE PROGRAM:
Notice: Ute Language classes is schedule to be back November 1st , 2017.
Ute Language Classes are taught every Wednesday evenings from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.
Teacher: Mrs. May Lee Mountain
Mrs. Reed will be helping with the kid’s group.
Please bring your favorite potluck dish to share with everyone!
Classes are taught at the Uintah River High School Classroom.
UP-COMING CERTIFIED FOOD MANAGER TRAINNG:
November 15th , 2017. From 8:30 am to 5:00pm. At the Ute Crossing Grill.
Training is provided by the Indian Health Service Office of Environmental Health & Engineering.
This one-day course is open to any Tribal members or individual working in or operating a food establishment in Tribal Communities who wished to obtain Nationally Recognized Certification in Food Safety Management, as required for food service operations. This course will provide Food Service Manages with a better understanding of the Food and Drug Administration’s 2013 Food Code and the requirements of the Indian Health Service.
There is NO FEE for this course however, each participant is required to purchase a ServSafe Manager Book 7th edition with an exam answer sheet from the National Restaurant Association. Cost of the book and exam sheet is $70.30, plus shipping and Tax.
Classroom size is limited to 30 students. Advanced registration is required.

UPDATE FROM THE HEAD START PROGRAM:
Ute Indian Tribe Head Start will have a Halloween Literacy activity for the Head Start Children. Children ages range from Three to Five. If your department would like to participant you are welcome to being a short story to read to a group of 19 children. We have a total of 215 children. If you would like to give the children a treat, we require non-edible treats. Items must be bigger than 1 ½ inch in diameter to prevent a choking hazard.
Halloween Literacy, October 31st , 2017. At 10:30 am. at the Head Start Office in Fort Duchesne. All centers Myton, Whiterocks, the two centers in Fort Duchesne, Little Mesa and Four Winds will be participating in this Literacy activity.

HEAD START FATHERHOOD ACTIVITY:
Ute Tribe Head Start Fatherhood Activity at the Head Start Office, Wednesday, November 16th, starting at 6:30 pm. We will be discussing being prepared in case of a natural or manmade disaster, anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Venita K. Taveapont Library is holding a Thanksgiving Book Food Drive.
Hidden books have been found in our library thanks to wonderful people, and we would like to say Thank you to them, by doing a food Drive for Thanksgiving!, Let’s show our community how we can help! For every Food Drive item you bring in, you will receive a book of your choice.
