NOTICE OF ELECTION DATES FOR UTE TRIBE BUSINESS COMMITTEE OFFICE:

Pursuant to the Ute Indian Tribe Constitution and By-Laws of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation Article IV, V, and IX, Ordinance 13-006

Therefore under this Ordinance 13-006, the dates of the Election and time will follow as for the seat of the Ute Tribe Business Committee, Uncompahgre, Whiteriver, and Uintah Band.

Candidates Night Wednesday, April 19th at 5:00 pm in the Tribal Auditorium

Election Commission will count the votes at 6:30 pm.

ATTENTION: THIS IS A PUBLIC NOTICE:

ROAD CLOSURE: Route 7 (1) Ute 7 Road, Uintah Canyon Rd to Whiterocks Hwy.

Burdick Materials has contracted with the Ute Indian Tribe to repair the UOIR Route 7 Road which is in Duchesne and Uintah Counties. Work includes 5 miles of the Route 7 Road that runs from the Uintah Canyon Road to the Whiterocks Highway.

The Week of April 24th thru April 29th, it will be necessary to close the road to traffic while culverts are installed.

There will be equipment and crew out on the road, please drive with caution and watch closely for our worker.

Fort Duchesne Community Meeting is scheduled for April 18th today, at 5:30 pm. it will be an open floor for all upcoming Tribal Candidates to share their platforms.

UPDATE FROM UTE TRIBE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT:

Tribal Emergency Response Community TERC Meeting, Thursday, April 27th 2017. At 12:00 – 1:00 pm. at the Tribal Auditorium.

We’ll be discussion: Family Preparedness, and Mosquito Abatement. Guest speakers: Colby Clayburn, Roland McCook, and Rick Chapoose.

Lunch & Beverage will be provided to all attendees. Also Emergency Management will be holding a Raffle, you do need to be present in order to win.

Please note: this program is a Title V1 Grant Funded Program, and warning that this program will undergo some changes as of April 1, 2017.

NEWS UPDATES FROM JOUNERY

  • We have updated our Rules for using our Gym. Please take few minutes before your workout to look over the rules and sign and date it. A new form needs to be filled out every year. Thank you for helping us to keep our gym safe for everyone.

  • Our bikes are tuned up and ready for use. We have 4 Mountain Bikes and 2 Beach Cruisers available to check out during JIWC work hours Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. You are required to wear a helmet and use the bikes properly, and at your own risk. You may check out a bike for up to 2 hours. Remember to wear sun screen and bug spray as needed.

  • We have Diabetic Doctor’s here at Journey Into Wellness Program:

    Dr. Durant Tuesday morning, Dr. Allred Wednesday morning, Julie Cope Thursday afternoons, and Dr. Humphrey every other Friday.

    Please call and make an appointment for a Diabetic check-up, or if you are a diabetic patient you can be seen here and for other ambulatory care purpose.

    UTE INDIAN TRIBE AND WIOA SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM 2017:

    Qualifications for youth Worker participants.

    HR, SUMMER YOUTH

    Must be an enrolled member of the Ute Indian Tribe

    Must be 14-21 years old

    Must be enrolled in school and provide transcript (report card)

    WIOA, SUMMER YOUTH

    Must be an enrolled member of a Federally recognized Tribe or a Tribal Descendent

    Must be 14-24 years old

    Income Verification (last 6 months)

    Public Assistance documents (if applicable)

    All participants will need to provide two forms of ID:

    Tribal ID, State ID, Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, or School ID.

    Youth participants attending summer school MUST provide documentation.

    If participants are 18 years or older they will need to submit a criminal background check. This can be obtained through the Roosevelt or Vernal Police department for an upfront fee of $15.00. Please submit background check and receipt with application for reimbursement.

    Any missing documentation will hinder placement.

    Both programs will begin Monday, June 12th through August 3rd , 2017.

    It’s first come, first serve basis.

    Participants must submit applications in person by the Deadline of June 1st, 2017.

    There is a possibility of running two sessions this summer depending on Tribal support & number of participants.

    JOB ANNOUCEMENT WITH UTE INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITY:

    Carpenter/Maintenance Worker

    The Ute Indian Housing Authority is seeking an individual to work in the Maintenance Department. The selected individual shall perform skilled carpentry level work associated to home general repair, maintenance, and rehab. Work requires will be to the interior and exterior of a home, and/or unit.

    Must be available to be On-call during the weekend as scheduled.
