NOTICE OF ELECTION DATES FOR UTE TRIBE BUSINESS COMMITTEE OFFICE:

Pursuant to the Ute Indian Tribe Constitution and By-Laws of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation Article IV, V, and IX, Ordinance 13-006

Therefore under this Ordinance 13-006, the dates of the Election and time will follow as is for the seat of the Ute Tribe Business Committee, Uncompahgre, Whiteriver, and Uintah Band.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS for PRIMARY: April 5th thru April 10th , 2017. From 8:00 to 4:30 pm. Monday thru Friday, at the Ute Tribal Auditorium.

PRIMARY ELECTION: Tuesday, April 11th , 2017, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Polling place at the following communities:

Myton at the Community Building, Whiterocks at the Gym, Randlett at the Parrish Hall and Fort Duchesne Gym.

Election Commission will count the votes at 6:30 pm.

POSTING and Certifying of the Primary results Wednesday, April 12th at 6:30 pm.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR INDIAN MINERAL OWNER QUESTION AND ANSWER:

Tuesday, April 18th , 2017. At the Ute Crossing Grill. From 9:00 am – Noon.

Representative from various Federal Agencies responsible for managing trust minerals will be available to answer your mineral ownership and/or royalty questions, regardless of where your allotment is located.

  • Eagle View Elementary: Parents and Teachers Conference, is schedule for

    April 12 & 13th , 2016, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.

  • Uintah River High School: will be holding registration for students returning for the 2017-2018 school year April 17th -20th , 2017.

    Parents please plan on attending your student’s registration date to fill out applications and talk about your student’s credits and tentative schedule for next year.

    Registration will begin at 3:30 pm.

    Painted Horse is now open on Fridays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

    Dialysis Support Group meeting: April 12, 2017 from 5-6:00 pm. at the Painted Horse Diabetes Office.

    This meeting is for all Native American Dialysis Patients and family members.

    Please note: this program is a Title V1 Grant Funded Program, and warning that this program will undergo some changes as of April 1, 2017.

    NEWS UPDATES FROM JOUNERY

  • Greg Marht, Registered Dietician is available April 12-14, 2017. Call for an appointment.

  • We have updated our Rules for using our Gym. Please take few minutes before your workout to look over the rules and sign and date it. A new form needs to be filled out every year. Thank you for helping us to keep our gym safe for everyone.

  • Our bikes are tuned up and ready for use. We have 4 Mountain Bikes and 2 Beach Cruisers available to check out during JIWC work hours Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. You are required to wear a helmet and use the bikes properly, and at your own risk. You may check out a bike for up to 2 hours. Remember to wear sun screen and bug spray as needed.

  • We have Dr. Durant Tuesday morning, Dr. Allred Wednesday morning, Julie Cope Thursday afternoons, and Dr. Humphrey every other Friday.

    UTE INDIAN TRIBE AND WIOA SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM 2017:

    Qualifications for youth Worker participants.

    HR, SUMMER YOUTH

    Must be an enrolled member of the Ute Indian Tribe

    Must be 14-21 years old

    Must be enrolled in school and provide transcript (report card)

    WIOA, SUMMER YOUTH

    Must be an enrolled member of a Federally recognized Tribe or a Tribal Descendent

    Must be 14-24 years old

    Income Verification (last 6 months)

    Public Assistance documents (if applicable)

    All participants will need to provide two forms of ID:

    Tribal ID, State ID, Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, or School ID.

    Youth participants attending summer school MUST provide documentation.

    If participants are 18 years or older they will need to submit a criminal background check. This can be obtained through the Roosevelt or Vernal Police department for an upfront fee of $15.00. Please submit background check and receipt with application for reimbursement.

    Any missing documentation will hinder placement.

    Both programs will begin Monday, June 12th through August 3rd , 2017.

    It’s first come, first serve basis.

    Participants must submit applications in person by the Deadline of June 1st, 2017.

    JOB ANNOUCEMENT WITH UTE INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITY:

    Carpenter/Maintenance Worker

    The Ute Indian Housing Authority is seeking an individual to work in the Maintenance Department. The selected individual shall perform skilled carpentry level work associated to home general repair, maintenance, and rehab. Work requires will be to the interior and exterior of a home, and/or unit.

    Must be available to be On-call during the weekend as scheduled.
