IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE UTE HOUSING PROGRAM:
Ute Housing is encouraging all our home owners to look and see if flood insurance was or is a part of your homeowner’s insurance policy. It would be a wise decision to purchase this with the spring water runoffs coming.
We are also advising you that live cannels and rivers to watch if there might be flooding, that are near you, and to report any flooding or high water, ASAP if you feel there is a need to.
Just a reminder: that with the ground being wet it can do harm to the septic systems, so with that said please DO NOT PARK OR DRIVE OVER YOUR SEPTIC LINES, OR WATER LINES.

Invitation for sealed bids on the sale of farm and pasture leases will be held at, 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
Sealed Bids only for farm and pasture lease on described tracts of land will be received in the office of the Superintendent, Uintah & Ouray (U&O) Agency, until 4:30 pm, on Tuesday February 14, 2017.
All bids must be enclosed in an envelope addressed to the U&O Agency, P.O. Box 130, Fort Duchesne, Utah 84026 and plainly marked “Sealed Bid on Farm & Pasture Sale to be opened on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. It must also contain the item number on the front of the envelope.

The LIHEAP Program is starting a new year this month, so come into the Social Services to pick-up an application.
Office Hours: Monday – Thursday. From 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

IMPORTANT REMINDER FROM THE UTE TRIBE HEAD START PROGRAM:
Attention all parents/guardians of Head Start Children:
With the Holidays and Birthdays coming up we would like to inform all parents that due to allergy concerns in every center, we ask that absolutely NO FOOD be brought into your child’s classroom, at any Head Start activity/function or on the bus.
If you would like to bring something for his/her class you may bring pencils, play dough, fun straws, little coloring books, etc. Items that are Non-Edible, PLEASE!
Please keep this in mind the remainder of the 2016-2017 School year.
This includes centers in Myton, Ft. Duchesne, Little Mesa, Whiterocks, and Home Base.

TRAVEL UPDATE FROM MOTOR POOL:
72ND anniversary Iwo Jima Flag raising: Saturday, February 25th, 2017.
Motor Pool will be taking a bus to the Ira Hayes Flag Raising Ceremony.
The Bus will depart from the Ute Plaza, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 9:00 am.
We will be staying in Flagstaff, Arizona the room rate will be $90.00 plus tax.
Will stay at Casa Grande, Friday & Saturday, February 24th and 25th, At the Holiday Inn, the Room rates will be $90.00 plus tax.
Saturday, will be attending the Parade and Pow-wow.
Sunday, February 26, 2017. We will depart from Casa Grande and make our way to Towaco, Co., and spent the night there, the Room rate will be $59.99 per night.
Monday, February 27th, 2017. We will depart and be returning to Fort Duchesne.

Thank you to all who participated in the mini health fair. We had a total of 145 people sign-in. We hope you learned something new and had some fun.

Zumba-Thon, March 18th, at 1:00 – 4:00 pm. at the Fort Duchesne Gym. There will be three to four different instructors.
There will be NO transportation available for Medical appointments the week of February 13th. Staff will be in training.
Friday, February 17th, Food Demo, has been cancelled until March 17th at Painted Horse starting at 10:00 am.
Sunday, February 26th, Snowboarding, ski Trip, sunlight Resort in Glenwood Springs, Co. Seating is limited stop by Painted Horse to sign-up.

UPDATES FROM JOURNEY INTO WELLNESS PROGRAM:
We have a Health provider here at the Wellness Center, every Thursday afternoons for walk-in appointments. Her name is Julie Pope, and she will be with us until June 2017.
If you need DMV forms filled out or have a cold, or just need a diabetic check-up, just stop in Thursday afternoon, or call Kay @ 725-6893, Darci @ 725-6860 to schedule an appointment.
H.E.L.P. Holiday Eating Learning Program Updates:
It was a close one this year, with the top 3 teams within eight points of each other. Congrats to the following teams:
“Lady Warriors” they won the HELP Challenge with a score of 498. Each member received a pair of N7 Nike shoes and a pair of Frog earbuds.
Good Job; Samatha Shore, Lanie Chapoose, Kristen Tahreep and Krishna Sixkiller.
“Flab to Fab” took second place, and losing first place by 1 point with a total of 497, they received Under Armor back packs, and a 3 pack of Nike Socks, Good Job: Quanah Powaukee, Kay L. Ridley, Mary Wiener, and Sheri Taveapont.
“Eight 2 Much” , came in third place with a total of 491, they received Nike hats and Nike Hoodies pull overs, Team members are Felicia Myore, Brandy Navanick, Val James, and Arthur Silva.
We’re working on it, took 4th place, receiving Nike Shirts, and water infusion bottle. Team members were Pam Shaffer, Teresa Shields, Andi Shields and Melanie Cesspooch.
Bryan Sandness was the men’s Biggest Loser, with 7.3 lb, reduction,
Tracie Pike was the female Biggest Loser, with 17.2 Lbs. weight loss.
